The big reunion and sad goodbyes

Day 20 or 21?

After the excitement in Batticola we spent 2 nights in the Cinnamon hotel in Colombo which was 5 star!! Even though a huge sense of guilt was upon us, we managed to get the most that we could out of the 5 star services. After our relaxing final  night in Sri Lanka, we woke up and headed for the airport where we stepped on the flight home. Saying goodbye to "Cobra", "God", the drivers and the party bus was very hard as we had experienced such a good time with them all,  but as Cobra said "we do not say Goodbye we say see you soon." 

We arrived in Heathrow with the warm welcome of all our friends and family some who had made banners! The Ocean stars team then had to part company and drive home - to our families, mobile phones and warm beds. 

10 days later Mrs Angel and Dilanee decided to organise a post trip reunion party. We all brought a plate of food each and a bottle of drink. As you can see from the photos, there was a huge array of snack selections and dessert choices. It was great to see the whole team back together again along with all our families. We ate,drank and laughed all evening like we had never been apart. 

We reflected once again on what a life changing trip we had all experienced together and we can't be thankful enough to our parents, families, Dilanee, Mrs Angel, Mr Taylor, Cobra and God, Mrs Haynes, all of the Ocean Stars team, everyone in the whole of Sri Lanka for being so friendly and welcoming and of course you the blog readers and followers!
